The Chippolord/Supreme box logo Tee (2024)

I have had this slogan in the chamber for years. The inspiration comes from an Ex-NBA player Jalen Rose who used to say "Your Favourite Podcasts, Favourite Podcast" on his show, The Jalen and Jacoby Show on ESPN.

Spoler... That part of the design was a solution to a problem along the way...

I've always wanted to bootleg Supreme. Out of complete respect of course (The price I sold these t shirts for covered costs and then a touch - $60). So when I was coming up with the concept for this one, the idea was to draw people in with something familiar on the front, and follow with something meaningful on the back.

On the back of the Tee is an image of the men's bathroom at the pub, which comes deep lore and history.

The phrase "Always Rinsed, Never Washed" is referencing the graffiti culture phrase " Rinsed", when an area is completely covered in graffiti (for those of you uninitiated in graffiti terminology). "Never Washed" is referring to the popular term used for someone past their prime in their career (I'm familiar with it through sports and entertainment) to the point of embarrassment sometimes.

For the production of this one I was able to mock this up myself on the Adobe Suite. I then enlisted Lachlan from CHEFF to help me manufacture them, using his blanks. (I had recently hosted him to help launch his label and he gifted me with some pieces I was in love with, for their boxy, heavyweight designs).

But we ran into a problem. The original design of the Supreme logo on the front and the image and text on the back was digitally printed - and it looked pretty rubbish. A miscommunication, and a naivety on my behalf, where thought the entire thing would be screen printed, but due to the detail in the design it couldn't be - or it would be much more expensive.

So we came up with a fix - the black, screen printed, graffiti style slogan on the back, and something to match it on the front. Always Rinsed, Never Washed.

Here's the final product.

(Joanne was, and still is a friend of mine and to the patrons of the pub).
